  • Mr Thomas Raju – Presiding Chairman


  • Mr Thomas Venkat Raju was appointed by the Minister of Commerce in 2001 as the Chairman after the Commission was revamped following the termination of appointments of the previous Commission members. His appointment was renewed again in 2003 and 2005. Having worked in the British tobacco company, he was also a member of other boards like the Higher Salaries Commission, Pacific Fisheries Company Limited (PAFCO). He was also a member of the School of Applied Studies at University of the South Pacific (USP) and Bailey Clinic Trust for the disadvantaged.

    Mr Raju’s appointment will cease on the 15th of October and will bring to an end wonderful era of leadership with him being at the helm. His leadership has resulted in profound decisions being released by the Commission which has raised its profile.

    Mr Raju enjoys reading autobiographies of well known people and philosophical books.

  • Mr Iowane Naiveli


  • Mr Naiveli has been with the Commission since it’s inception in 1999 until it’s dissolution in 2000. Later in the same year, the interim administration re-appointed him as a Commissioner which has been renewed ever since. The appointment will now cease on the 15th of October.

    Mr Naiveli is a successful Accountant by profession and is the principal of Naiveli and Associates. He has also been a member of a number of boards including the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Higher Salaries Commission and the Fiji Hardwood Limited.

    Mr Naiveli’s contribution to the Commission has been outstanding, providing assessment and financial analysis on various industries bringing about a range of scoping issues to focus. Mr Naiveli has also assisted the Commission in setting up it’s own financial system in order to control its own finances.

    Mr Naiveli has established a platform for the Commission to work from in years to come. He is an ardent supporter of Rugby and is currently a board member of the Fiji Rugby Board, the umbrella Association for the local rugby unions in Fiji including the world cup Dragon slayers of the rugby 15’s – Flying Fijians as well as the Melrose 7’s cup holders.
